19th Francophonie Summit
The Francophonie summit will open on 4 October 2024 at the Cité internationale de la langue française, in Villers-Cotterêts, a place entirely dedicated to the French language and French-speaking cultures, inaugurated on 30 October 2023 by M. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic. The summit will continue in Paris on 5 October 2024.
General Assembly, High-level meeting on Antimicrobial resistance
The UN General Assembly will convene a High-Level Meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) for the second time during its 79th session (UNGA 79) in New York in September 2024. Drug-resistant infections know no borders, meaning no single country can respond to AMR alone. This meeting is an important opportunity for world leaders to collectively address the looming threat AMR poses to global health, food security, and achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
UN Summit for the Future
The Summit is a high-level event, bringing world leaders together to forge a new international consensus on how we deliver a better present and safeguard the future.
Communicating for progress
As we go into 2024, we have an unprecedented opportunity to fast-track progress on health. During this health resources replenishment period, creating a movement of people against malaria, communicating with media, donors and others about the value of continued investments in each global health initiative and how those initiatives work together to maximise their impact is vital. A new report by Brunswick Group and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation provides insight on the current opinion landscape and clarity on how to use it to communicate with key audiences effectively.
