Lizz Ntonjira
Global Communications & External Engagement Advisor
Lizz is the Global Communications & External Engagement Advisor. She is a seasoned leader with 18 years of diverse experience across the public, private, and international development sectors. Her strategic vision has been instrumental in reshaping brand perception, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and elevating service and product visibility through targeted communications and advocacy initiatives. Her multifaceted background has enabled organisations to drive impactful change and foster collaboration across various sectors. She has successfully forged robust partnerships with both local and global organizations to advance strategic objectives.
Lizz also serves as the Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Zero Malaria Campaign Coalition (ZMCC), a position appointed by the Ministry of Health in Kenya. In this role, she has contributed to numerous national and regional campaigns aimed at eliminating malaria in Kenya and across the continent. Additionally, Lizz is a member of the Steering Board for the Africa Public Health Risk Communication and Engagement Committee, appointed by the Africa CDC and the World Health Organization's Africa office (WHO-AFRO).
She is also an award-winning author and public speaker, sharing insights on communication and advocacy strategies, partner/ stakeholder engagements, branding & digital media, risk communication, community engagement, and the challenges of misinformation and disinformation, among others. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, and in 2024, she was recognised as the 50 Most Influential Women in Kenya for her work in youth and championing of African leadership.
Lizz’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, a postgraduate Professional Diploma in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in the UK, and a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management from Strathmore University. Additionally, she is a Public Policy Management Fellow from Virginia Commonwealth University and a recipient of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. Lizz is currently pursuing her PhD in Healthcare Management at Strathmore Business School.
