
Dr Daddi Jima Wayessa

Dr Wayessa currently leads the Country and Regional Support Partners Committee of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria since September 2017. His main role is leading the coordination of the technical support provided to malaria-endemic countries and regional entities as they execute their malaria control and elimination implementation programs.
Dr Wayessa is a public health professional with over 25 years of experience in the Public Health sector. He successfully implemented and led programs at national and global levels, including in Ethiopia before he joined RBM Partnership.
From 2009 to 2017, he held a senior government position and led the Public Health Institute in Ethiopia with the role of overseeing disease surveillance and response to public health emergencies. He also served and led the national malaria and other vector-borne diseases programme for more than 10 years.
Dr Wayessa holds a medical doctor by training, with a Master of Public Health degree from the National University of Ireland.
