In September 2017, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria established the Malaria Financing Task Force to coordinate financing initiatives, linking global level advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts with in country efforts and develop investment cases and workplans to increase domestic resources.

The RBM Malaria Finance Task Force conducted a scoping mission to Lusaka, Zambia from 4-8 March with support from the Zambia National Malaria Elimination Centre (NMEC). The scoping mission delegation included Ms Joy Phumaphi, the Executive Sceretary of African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), Dr Richard Kamwi, Ambassador of the Elimination 8, Dr Melanie Renshaw, Interim CPO of RBM and Mr Matthew Boslego, Policy Specialist with RBM.

The mission allowed for successful consultations with the Government of Zambia, National End Malaria Council members, Development partners and various private sector partners and was able to lay the ground work for further consultations to develop an investment case in coordination with the Government of Zambia and NMEC.

The Malaria Finance Task Force will also be conducting a scoping mission to the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville in Q2 2019. The details of the upcoming mission will be shortly available here.
