1st CRSPC Face-to-Face Meeting, 13 October 2018, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Taking advantage of the presence of National Malaria Control Programmes and a significant number of partners at the sub-regional meeting in Addis Ababa last month, the Country/Regional Support Partner Committee (CRSPC) conducted its 1st Face-to-Face Meeting on 13 October 2018 since the revitalization of the RBM Partnership.
More than 50 Committee members participated in a lively debate on the CRSPC`s achievements and strategic priorities, addressing confronted challenges and opportunities to be explored. The last CRSPC all-Committee assembly, in its prior formula, had taken place five years ago, in 2013, in the framework of the session of the RBM Harmonisation Working Group.
The CRSPC Face-to-Face Meeting gave Committee members the opportunity to get better acquainted in person and actively exchange over a number of pressing issues. The meeting sought to facilitate the review of the strategic challenges to the CRSPC role and performance over the course of 2018.
The works of the meeting allowed for an effective inventory of the countries` specific technical assistance needs, the identification of priority action lines for the upcoming year and the collection of input for the 2019 CRSPC Workplan and respective budget distribution. Working Groups and Workstreams were able to share their experience and challenges and to discuss new collaboration modalities that would overcome bottlenecks and maximize the results.
