The RBM Partnership to End Malaria invites submissions for Steering Group membership within the ARCPC. This committee plays a pivotal role in advancing global advocacy, resource mobilisation, and strategic communication in the fight against malaria.
Details of the nomination process are provided below.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Submission Deadline: All nominations must be submitted by 23:59 (CET) on 10 January 2025. Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.
BACKGROUND
The ARCPC was established during the 32nd meeting of the RBM Partnership Board in Bogota, Colombia (4-5 December 2024). This committee serves as a strategic mechanism to enhance coordinated global action in malaria advocacy, resource mobilisation, and communication.
The ARCPC Steering Group (SG) will comprise 10-15 members selected for their expertise and leadership and in a composition that is broadly reflective of the Partnership Board to ensure constituency representation as well as a balanced geographic representation, including from malaria-affected countries and communities.
Selected members will commence their roles in February 2025, following an announcement at the end of January 2025. SG members serve without a fixed term, but efforts will be made to refresh approximately 20% of the membership annually to maintain diversity, fresh perspectives, and a broad base of contributing Partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF STEERING GROUP MEMBERS
As outlined in the Partner Committee Standard Operating Procedures (PC SOPs), members of the Steering Group will:
- Support Co-Chairs and the Secretariat in preparing workplans and budgets for integration into the Partnership workplan.
- Assist in drafting reports and updates for the RBM Partnership.
- Actively contribute to implementing the PC workplan, including SG discussions and promoting its outputs.
- Facilitate broader Partner Committee engagement and decision-making.
- Share expertise, participate in coordination calls, and foster collaboration among members.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
In line with the ARCPC Terms of Reference, prospective candidate should demonstrate:
- 8-12 years experience in developing effective advocacy toolkits that have let to positive malaria interventions
- Ability to provide expert advocacy advice and strategic direction to ensure that the Partnership’s initiatives align with its overarching goals of malaria elimination and resource mobilization
- Solid understanding of malaria and the broader development context, of global decision-making structures and frameworks and a strong established network.
- Significant experience of leading global resource mobilisation initiatives and strategies and/or the development of global advocacy strategies.
- Experience of identifying and preparing successfully for key resource mobilisation opportunities.
- Significant experience leading impactful strategic communications initiatives, including developing messaging frameworks and/or managing strategic media relations.
- Significant experience developing and managing multi-sector relationships and partnership coordination.
- Experience in the development of media platforms (website, social media platforms, traditional media production, etc.)
NOMINATION PROCESS
Nominations can be submitted by RBM partners, including self-nominations. All nominations will be reviewed by the ARCPC Co-Chairs, in consultation with the RBM Secretariat.
