The 12th Annual Meeting of the Vector Control Working Group (VCWG) marked the largest gathering to date, bringing together over 250 partners from 40 countries across the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Western Pacific. Participants represented national vector-borne disease control programs, industry, development organizations, NGOs, and academic institutions.
Over three days, the meeting focused on developing two-year work plans to address the challenges of entomology and vector control for malaria and other vector-borne diseases. Discussions highlighted the impact of urbanization, globalization, humanitarian emergencies, and climate and land-use changes on vector control efforts. The meeting reinforced VCWG’s role as a vital platform for collaboration, capacity building, and the deployment of innovative strategies to combat vector-borne diseases globally.
