Malaria control investments bring such a high rate of return that they are an easy business choice for Southern African companies, according to business leaders who were sharing their experiences of tackling malaria at the Inaugural GBCHealth Africa Regional Conference, which opened in Johannesburg today.

“Malaria interventions give an internal return of 28 percent and are quite cheap compared to other business projects so there is not really any opposition from management. It makes business sense”, noted Elton Dorkin, Group Medical Consultant for Illovo sugar, the biggest sugar producer in Africa and one of the top 5 worldwide.
