Taking advantage of the political energy already mobilised around the development of the Sahel Malaria Elimination Initiative (SaME) and looking to address the practical in-country implementation processes, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, in collaboration with WHO and Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) will be organising a National Malaria Control Programme Managers meeting seeking to translate the state-level commitment into concrete and coherent actions.

This meeting will give NMCP managers the opportunity to review their programmes and reorient their policies by aligning them with malaria elimination strategies, with the WHO Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016-2030 (GTS) and with the Framework for Malaria Elimination. NMCP Managers will share the situational analyses pertaining to each of the countries, discuss and finalise the draft of the SaME Regional Strategy, roll out draft sub-regional malaria elimination Scorecards, and address any other pertinent issues.
