Dear Partners,

On 15 November, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria and partners will hold an online crash-course on the promising and robust malaria innovation pipeline, in the lead up to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) Annual Meeting.

The event will take place on 15 November from 14:00 to 16:00 GMT and will feature an informative overview of the latest news, opportunities and challenges in the fight against malaria from a range of scientific experts and organizations from around the globe.
Through the session, journalists will be able to hear from experts about:

  • The wide array of innovative tools in development, from vector control to vaccines
  • Tackling insecticide resistance and keeping ahead of the ever-evolving mosquito, to the importance of surveillance and the search for lasting malaria protection
  • The challenges researchers and countries are trying to address, and funding needs.

The event (held in English with French interpretation) will also provide participants with an opportunity to ask technical questions, as well as to build relationships with representatives from the global malaria community.

The media play an essential role in helping to educate users of malaria interventions, policy makers and policy influencers in donors and malaria-endemic countries.
