What can be done to prevent another global outbreak of Zika, dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever or to further reduce malaria? Experts and scientist from over the world will discuss the progress of the GVCR during this conference.
Triggered by the unprecedented global spread of dengue and chikungunya viruses and outbreaks of Zika virus disease and yellow fever in 2015-2016, the World Health Organization developed the Global Vector Control Response (GVCR) as a strategic guidance to countries and development agencies for the strengthening of vector control as a fundamental approach to preventing disease and responding to outbreaks. The World Health Assembly unanimously endorsed the GVCR in 2017.
What can be done to prevent another global outbreak of Zika, dengue, chikungunya and yellow fever or to further reduce malaria? Experts and scientist from over the world will discuss the progress of the GVCR during this conference. To evaluate the GVCR progress, and to discuss further strengthening of the approach, this conference will be held in Wageningen, the Netherlands, 11-13 June 2019.
